The sub-activity shall contribute to creating sustainable community development with an emphasis on social sustainability for Duved Village. Duved shall become a reference for contemporary community development in Sweden – for how a smaller locality in the mountains can develop new models for collaboration and development. It shall become an example of how rural areas can respond to the wave of urbanization, through dialogue with citizens, culture, and business. Duved is to have double the number of residents by 2023.

The residents of Duved shall collaboratively work out the ideas and needs that exist for Duved, which will be presented to Åre municipality, property owners, property developers, and other stakeholders. Duved shall become an example of citizen-driven community development.

LAG board's justification

The applicant describes their sustainable idea for community development in a very positive way; their ambitious plan for mobilization to get everyone in the village to meet and process their common future is exemplary. The initiative falls within the framework of the strategy, and the results of the pre-study have good prospects of leading to a larger project application and a long-term result.
