What can I apply for funding for?
All projects funded by Leader Grogrund must lead to one of our two overarching goals:
- contribute to attractive rural areas
- harness engagement and ideas that lead to local development.
All projects must be carried out within the framework of our ecosystems and contribute to the global sustainability goals. We advocate that everyone should have the same rights, obligations, and opportunities regardless of who they are or how they choose to live.
Collaboration is fundamental. Projects that lead to long-term collaboration and that contribute to some form of public benefit or general local development will be prioritized. Applicants need to collaborate with someone else who also benefits from the effort.
Associations, companies, and organizations can apply for funding to implement project ideas. Those who will represent the applicant need to have a power of attorney. We do not grant support to companies that only want to develop their own operations or to individuals.
All projects need to contribute with voluntary work. Time for individuals over 16 years is valued at 340 kronor and 13-15 years is valued at 77 kronor per hour.
Own contribution may also be relevant depending on the type of support.
For an application to be granted funding by Leader Grogrund, the project must contribute to development in Berg, Härjedalen, Krokom, Åre, and Östersund municipalities.
Östersund's central area including Hornsberg/Östberg on Frösön and the area from Torvalla to Brunflo is not included as those areas are not considered rural.
Ytterhogdal parish and surrounding areas are included in Leader Hälsingebygden.

Larger investments
Project support
Applying for funding for a project is the right way if the investment is extensive.
- The requested amount is assessed in relation to how the project contributes to the set goals and themes.
- The minimum amount to apply for is 24,000 kronor.
- If the support is considered state aid, the support is limited so that the recipient does not receive more than what the rules allow.
- Own contribution is set in the form of percentage depending on how broad the public benefit is (0-60 %).
Investigative investments
Pre-study support
Conducting a pre-study can be a good way to investigate the conditions for a larger project or investment.
- The requested amount is assessed in relation to how the project contributes to the set goals and themes.
- The minimum amount to apply for is 24,000 kronor.
- If the support is considered state aid, the support is limited so that the recipient does not receive more than what the rules allow.
- Own contribution is set in the form of percentage depending on how broad the public benefit is (0-60 %).
Entrepreneurs
Project support for companies
Applying for funding for entrepreneurship can provide conditions for long-term sustainable business. Applicants need to collaborate with someone else who also benefits from the effort. We do not grant support to companies that only want to develop their own operations.
- There is an opportunity for self-employed individuals to draw a salary through the project.
- Can also be applied for by associations if the benefit goes to entrepreneurs.
- The largest amount that is searchable is 300,000 kronor.
- The minimum amount to apply for is 24,000 kronor.
- If the support is considered state aid, the support is limited so that the recipient does not receive more than what the rules allow.
- Own contribution is required depending on how broad the public benefit is (30-60 %).

Infrastructure, services, housing, and broadband are important prerequisites for us to be able to live, thrive, and operate in our rural areas.
DEVELOP IDEAS AND IDEA BEARERS
Within the leader area, there are many people with good ideas. What is sometimes lacking is resources for development.
DEVELOP OUR LOCAL RESOURCES
Developing local resources contributes to increased cohesion and helps rural areas strengthen their identity.
