Development of riding trails on Frösön
About the project
The purpose of the project is to upgrade the existing riding trail in the Tanne- Vagled area to direct riding to a safer environment for horses and riders. This is a first step in the development of additional riding trails in Tanne- Vagled.
The current project involves interest groups collaborating to direct riding away from unwanted areas from the perspective of those affected. This in itself increases the conditions for a positive development of the equestrian industry in the area, with reduced accident risks and a foundation for good cooperation between the various stakeholders.
The project will primarily benefit associations but also individuals who engage in riding. In the long term, it may also benefit the tourism industry.
LAG board's justification
LAG chooses to prioritize this application, as it leads to goals within the intervention area Living local communities for all. The land area affected is rural but close to the city, and has many riders both privately and through riding schools in the area. It has long been important to find a better solution for a safe riding trail, and all parties want to resolve the issue in a long-term sustainable way. A safe trail can indirectly also contribute to business development through services related to the equestrian industry.
