The purpose of the pre-study ”Developing tourism with dogs in the mountains and Sled Dog World Championship 2021” is to investigate the conditions for sustainable dog tourism in Funäsfjällen, focusing on Ramundberget/Bruksvallarna and the opportunities and conditions for a Sled Dog World Championship 2021. The pre-study will also have a broader purpose, where the results can be used by other stakeholders within and outside Härjedalen.

This is a PROJECT SUPPORT FOR COMPANIES which is a project form that receives a maximum of 70% and 200,000 SEK in support, as the benefit primarily accrues to the applicant company.

LAG board's justification

LAG chooses to prioritize this pre-study with its innovative quality regarding tourist activities for the large target group of dog owners who bring their dogs. The project is expected to contribute to goals within the area of Passionate Entrepreneurship in collaboration, primarily the goal of Strengthened Entrepreneurship and Business. The decision assumes that the project receives approval for its application to the Savings Bank Foundation or alternatively can finance the 30% in private co-financing required.
