Construction Climbing wall Åre

About the project

The project is about building a ”kilterboard.” A kilterboard is an adjustable climbing wall, with lighting system that illuminates different climbing routes in various difficulty levels. It can be adjusted to different angles, to increase accessibility for everyone, young and old, experienced and new. The kilterboard is part of the larger project to build a complete commercial climbing hall at Åre Sports Center (Duved) which is financed by crowdfunding and private investors.

The purpose of the kilterboard is to increase accessibility to climbing in the hall. The kilterboard, as part of the climbing wall, will be part of a complete commercial climbing hall for residents and tourists of all ages, providing opportunities for spontaneous indoor activity with high accessibility for beginners, but also a complete training offering for established climbers.

LAG board's justification

LAG board prioritizes the project with the reasoning that the project increases accessibility and that the establishment generates benefits for other businesses, associations, and education.
