Race

The Holy Race project – to establish Hällberget as the largest ambassador for a vibrant Jämtland countryside – will develop and expose Hällberget's cultural trails through events and modern communication. To increase the number of visitors to the area and create a volume that generates more new jobs. The project connects two communities, Alsen and Offerdal, in a joint collaboration for the development of existing and new industries – equestrian tourism, hiking, and training tourism. This is done through several partners – Krokom parish, the municipality, Wången, food entrepreneurs, community centers, Hej Främling, and sports associations.

LAG board's justification

LAG prioritizes this project, as it is a collective effort to create more visitors to the beautiful Offerdal countryside. The project has a strong innovative element in the way it creates a competition where one can participate on their own terms, and where the competitive aspect is subordinate to the overall experience. The project is expected to lead to the strategy's goal of increased innovation and drive within focus area 1 Passionate entrepreneurship in collaboration, and is expected to have the potential to create new jobs as a result of the initiative.
