House factory-
school

About the project

The project was originally called Häljesunds House Factory, but is referred to as the House Factory School after a relocation to Eggfors' old premises in Mörsil. The project is based on the idea of a house factory school with 9 training places where participants learn to prefabricate wooden houses in modules and as plane elements/building kits in a calm and supportive environment. The budget is calculated for a project period of 18 months, of which 12 months involve participants in training and 3+3 months refer to the time for establishment and conclusion of the project. We estimate that during the 12-month period we will be able to train up to 27 people depending on their individual circumstances, how many people are referred from participating municipalities, and what requirements and demand the house companies have for newly trained staff. Participants are individuals who are far from the labor market, such as NEETs (young people who are neither working nor studying), newcomers, and long-term unemployed. House buyers can be private or public property owners, or house companies that want to purchase production capacity.

The project combines the creation of training places for those who are outside the labor market within a shortage occupation, the use of a local raw material (wood), and counteracts the long-term housing shortage that exists.

LAG board's justification

LAG prioritizes this project, as it has an innovative working method, creates an opportunity for skills enhancement based on the individual's conditions, and leads to a direct industry benefit by solving local problems related to labor shortages. The project has good potential for increased sustainability both socially (inclusion), ecologically (local raw material), and economically (new job opportunities). The project is expected to lead to the overarching goal of Exemplary inclusion of all in society.
