Jamtli Living University – In-depth feasibility study
About the project
The project is an in-depth feasibility study for the establishment of an urban eco-village with 30 residences. The purpose of the project is to create concrete conditions so that the planning of construction, operation, and living in JLU Eco-village can take place through a formalized network with the target groups, as well as to create learning already in the planning phase. As a result of the project, there is a desire to form an eco-village organization and a number of investigations into practical aspects, maintenance of common areas, etc. The next step is to build cooperative rental apartments.
LAG board's justification
LAG grants the project because the initiative is interesting in several ways, especially to create new forms of housing and a place for discussions about sustainability. In the long term, an eco-village is expected to benefit both actors in the wood and construction sectors, residents of the eco-village, as a meeting point, and as a research arena. The in-depth feasibility study is expected to contribute to Leader Sjö, Skog & Fjäll's goals within intervention area 4, Innovation/New technology/New solutions/Research.
