Climate-smart transport – pre-study and trial operations
About the project
Southern Årefjällen Tourism has developed a larger strategic and operational plan for ecological, social, and economic sustainability for housing and tourism. Part of this is to develop climate-smart transport within Southern Årefjällen. In this project, they will conduct a feasibility study aimed at investigating the conditions for creating a functioning local climate-smart transport system for residents and guests with demand-responsive public transport, carpooling, and car-sharing, preferably with self-driving vehicles. The transport also includes goods distribution within the area. The feasibility study will serve as a basis for an application for a larger project.
LAG board's justification
LAG chooses to prioritize this project, which is granted within the intervention area Innovation/New technology/New solutions/Research. Climate-smart transport is an important part of the countryside's opportunity for transition, and in this project, they approach this difficult question in a solution-focused manner on how it can practically happen.
