The project will produce an artistic short film with young people in the countryside, which will awaken creative engagement in the community and interest in the language Jämtlandic. The dialogues will be in Jämtlandic to a large extent. The film will be shown in cinemas in Jämtland and Härjedalen. The goal is also for the film to participate in several film festivals around Sweden and perhaps even abroad.

LAG board's justification

The LAG board chooses to approve this project, with a short film by and with young people, in Jämtlandic, the local dialect. The hope is that more film material of this type strengthens self-esteem and identity from a rural context, especially from a young diversity perspective. The project is expected to contribute to goals within intervention area 3 Attractive & Dynamic Nature and Cultural Environments, and the film will highlight both types of environments, in sound and image.
