Multileader –
collaboration with
Leader in Scotland
About the project
In our Leader area, many projects involve establishing, upgrading, or signposting some type of trail, or promoting a local trail as part of the marketing of a community or area. It ranges from experience trails to technical downhill trails for biking. The challenges are numerous regarding land agreements, influence, conflicts of interest, long-term maintenance, and capitalizing on the trails in such a way that they can lead to new businesses and new jobs.
The purpose of the project is to – in a learning exchange with Scotland – learn and document how to best build, inform about, market, and manage long-term maintenance of trails.
LAG board's justification
The LAG prioritizes this project, which has arisen from an identified need. A success factor is to learn from other Leader areas through transnational projects, and our partner in Scotland has identified similar issues.
