Nature-based rehabilitation

About the project

The project ”Nature-based rehabilitation in Bergs municipality – for people who are on sick leave or job seekers due to mental illness” is about creating a pilot operation where a rehabilitation model tailored to the needs of a rural municipality is developed. Nature-based rehabilitation aims to provide participants with better physical and mental health through rest, recovery, and tools to take care of their health, as well as to prepare them to enter work/employment. The project will also establish a close collaboration between Bergs municipality's labor market unit, Navigator, the Health Center, the Social Insurance Agency, and the Employment Agency.

Estimated effects are reduced social exclusion and that more approach the labor market, as well as increased job opportunities.

LAG board's justification

LAG board's motivation:
LAG chooses to prioritize this application. A feasibility study via Small Support is now being conducted, with good results. It is important that those in need of rehabilitation return to work as soon as possible, and for those who are outside the labor market, this pilot operation offers tools that lead to increased health and inclusion. The project is granted within intervention area 4. Innovation/New technology/New solutions/Research where it is expected to lead to new knowledge and solutions on how rehabilitation can be organized in a mountain-adjacent municipality in close collaboration between small businesses, healthcare, and the municipality.
