About the project

Ljungdalen has long been associated with tranquility and nature. Many visitors come here every year to hike in the mountains, fish along the Ljungan, or just find some peace and quiet. We now want to take the step and offer visitors in the area a more attractive and packaged experience. Visitors should find good information about the activities offered before and during their visit to our area, but also be assured that these activities are safe and well-functioning. By offering a larger selection with more short and not so physically demanding hiking options, we want to increase the number of visitors in the area. The increased number of trails in the project complements the heavily trafficked state trails in the area, i.e., state-managed trails are not included in the project. The project consists of two parts:

Trails & Attractions: Clearing, marking, signage, and if necessary, maintaining the trails, developing land agreements for the trails, setting up tables at certain rest areas, GPS logging of all trails.

Marketing: Developing maps and marketing materials for the trails, trail descriptions with photos & documentation, trail brochures, orientation boards, historically describing the attractions, what makes them special, and developing and setting up information signs about this.

LAG board's justification

LAG board's motivation:
LAG chooses to prioritize this project because it leads to several goals within the intervention area. The project works with ecological sustainability by consciously trying to relieve existing trails. The project creates a larger local offering of easy activities, which are made accessible through a comprehensive approach to marketing and packaging.
