REKO

About the project

REKO, Real Consumption, is a way where consumers and producers meet without intermediaries. Currently, there are only two rings in Östersund and Ragunda in our local area. It can be difficult to establish a functioning and good REKO ring in sparsely populated areas due to distance and less support for both customers and producers. The concept needs to be developed for REKO to contribute to more food producers and greater profitability here in our area.

In the short term, the project wants a number of REKO rings to have started with associated pickup points and functioning administrators. Each REKO ring should have equipment and materials to run a successful operation. The activities include planning, startup activities, implementation activities, and closing activities, all to facilitate for administrators, producers, and partners.

The project is a collaboration project with Leader Mittland Plus and Leader 3Sam.

LAG board's justification

LAG chooses to prioritize this project within the intervention area Passionate Entrepreneurship in collaboration. REKO rings are an opportunity for smaller companies to develop local markets with the possibility of new distribution channels. The REKO concept may need to be adapted to the conditions of northern Sweden. LAG is therefore positive towards, and wants to encourage that the project not only works to create REKO rings but also actively works on adapting meeting and distribution forms to suit the conditions of northern Sweden.
