Suspension bridge for outdoor activities

The project shall develop a framework for how suspension bridges for outdoor activities shall be constructed and built in a rational manner. I consultation with affected stakeholders and with general construction practices shall the project develop common guidelines and principles for the sizing of the bridges, as well as to create a memorandum based on the above guidelines with general construction solutions and create a parameter-based sizingprogram that can provide basis for further sizing and projectsing. 

The purpose of the framework is to more cost-effectively deliver suspension bridges to the stakeholders who work with making accessible natural areas for outdoor activities. Most of the few stakeholders who have previously worked with suspension bridges have discontinued their operations and currently, no one is driving the development forward. 

Goals in the long term are that theframework developed through the project shall be able to be taken further when detailing a specific bridge. Regardless of whether it is Mountain Technology or any other contractor that shall construct a bridge for the County Administrative Board, the guidelines they jointly come up with shall be used as requirements during procurement. Hopefully, the project shall long-term contribute to making natural areas accessible for outdoor activities in a cost-effective manner.
