Garden in zone north

The project will create conditions to increase the number of small-scale garden producers in the Jämtland Härjedalen region by developing, gathering, and strengthening knowledge about gardening in the northern cultivation zone, in zone north (zone 5+). 

The purpose of the project is to:  

• develop new knowledge as well as gather and disseminate the knowledge that already exists about gardening in zone north (zone 5+) that enables increased gardening and competitive entrepreneurship in the county. 
• highlight the local associations and businesses that operate within cultivation and gardening. 
• spread the knowledge and experiences that exist about cultivation in zone north (5+).
• show the breadth that gardening in rural areas entails, i.e., everything from smaller gardens to farms with larger cultivation areas, and facilitate contacts between associations, businesses, cultivation-interested individuals, and consumers/customers. 
• highlight and spread the local knowledge about how to handle one's harvest, store one's harvest, and increase one's conditions for the coming years.

The long-term goal is recurring fairs, workshops, and information meetings as well as multiple sustainable and competitive gardening operations in the region."The project is prioritized as it will in an innovative way gather, convey, and strengthen the knowledge and competence that exists about gardening in the harshest cultivation zones, cultivation zone 5+, in a way that has not been done before.
